Ican go even better I've been dealing with a job in Wishaw council blamed my firm and Scottish power for dealying them when it wasnt our fault and how much extra the work cost them. Even had the cheek to bring in the local MSP and MP for a meeting who went on to berate us saying it was unacceptable waste of tax payers money.

The council delayed the start of the job by changing contractors before the works got under way. And a bit of the street O/S his office that the council re-altered the road/footpath about 2yrs ago is getting ripped up again as part of a new scheme.

So the council has run out of funding to support investment in non council properties installaing Solar PV's, but is still funding the installation on its own properties.....

In a simple black and white situation, that would seem fair enough really; however in your situation, the roof in question is essentially shared, making the situation less than simple.

Have you investigated the upfront cost of investment yourself, with a view to the identifying the investment potential and income that will be generated as a resu;t of the FIT?

Would seem like a bit of an opportunity to me. The installation is already going ahead (or gone ahead), which means you would have reduced upfront costs in that respect. The panels are going to be there anyway, so it wont be the same as if it were say, a row of terrances, where one house would be without among a street full of them, and the income that is possible, while reduced somewhat from this time lsat year, still covers initial investment and would enhance the value of your property....

Dont be so quick to get the hump... just try and jump on the back of the bandwagon and get in with a cheaper investment

My grand dad has solar panels, his meter is the old dial type. It goes backwards.

The I would suggest he gets his whole metering changed. If its the old type, it would suggest that the panels were not installed by an MCS engineer, and that he wont be getting the financial benefit of the FIT
