Hi, My buddy Lee Walker sent me a link to his Kona referb and I got so excited I remembered my password! Nice site you fella's have going here. I have been helping folks repair some old frames and I often look here to find proper examples if I am not how I did it the first time, twenty years ago.
My oldest MTB is a Easton tube frame, like a Spooky Darkside but it's actually a bit older and was already painted black when I went to Spooky. I have recently fallen hard for old Raleigh road bikes also. If you can imagine another crazy thought, there is brazing flux splashed about on my floor! Gasp!
I read that Yeti post a bit earlier and it should be known that the very first Yeti frames had round tubes. Later ones built with round tubes (due to inventory shortage) would have only happened in extremely rare cases. John was pretty strict about maintaining the look of the bikes.
I will clean that old bike up a bit and post some pics. Thanks for keeping the history alive!
