I was just flicking through the site when something crossed my mind. If an unsavoury type stumbled unto here, he would have the most amazing directory of locations where he could try and pilfer our pride and joy from us.
If you do a search for a particular swanky bike theres a good chance that any number of replies will pop up from nice chaps who have a long list of all the beautiful bikes they own (often with photographs), Many users have a google maps location tab showing exactly where they live. Im sure some wise folks pop their flag in the middle of a motorway or on the top of a mountain but it seems many have their front doorstep accurately pinpointed. If you thought of an extremely rare and valuable bike you could have the exact location of several up and down the country within minutes. I speak to an alarming amount of folk every week hat have had their collections swiped from under their noses often in broad daylight from super secure buildings so I suppose im a bit conscious of this kind of thing.
Not wanting to spill the last bottle of creme de menthe at the party or anything but I wonder if anybody has considered this when setting up their profiles?
On a lighter note, if Jane Fonda tried to break into my garden shed dressed as Barbarella using the devious exploitation of openness and google maps then that would be a different matter altogether.....
