Goodbye Vern (aka Kaya) you will be missed

I've not managed to get up and see him for some time, but he started me riding in the bigger groups always putting on a good ride helping anyone that needed it, of course with a steep uphill after lunch or a quick refresher of Sloe Gin.

Rest in peace Vern, and let the Cropton sheep forever bleat your name.

Spent a couple of hours on the beach with our dogs last summer. Talking about everything and nothing. We were near neighbours in Retrobike terms. But his powered ride was a thing of er, amazement. Well my actual neighbours thought so!

A thoroughly decent philosophical guy.

Sad to hear this. I met Vern many years back on a North Yorks National Ride.
RIP Kaya and my thoughts are with your friends and family.

Chris.

Agree with all that's been said, very sad news. Was fortunate enough to ride with him a few years ago on one of the MacRetro gatherings at Glentress, Just a thoroughly nice chap with a big personality.
