Goodbye Capello! Hello ******!

It doesn't matter who they hire england don't have the talent to win anything in the forseeable future so they may as well get someone who will do it cheap.

I'm no football expert and I'm sure lots of you will know more than me about this. As far as I can tell, this whole thing kicked off when Terry call Anton Ferdinand a rude name. That's illegal and so the whole thing needs to go to a court of law. Personally, I think it would be quicker, easier and cheaper to give the pair of them to Jeremy Kyle, let him run a lie detector test and bang their stupid heads together. It's about all they deserve for their school yard name calling antics.

The Capello / Redknapp thing is all far too much of a coincidence. I can only think that the FA knobbled the jury in the tax evasion case, so that they had Harry available for selection.

Harry, being the peoples' choice could well end up being another Kevin Keegan;- My vote goes to Ian Holloway - at least we'd get a funny press conference after the game

I don't really understand what terry did, don't get me wrong he is a scumbag, his whole family are dregs but from what i gather but what he called the other guy was a black + expletive its not like he called him a racial slur + expletive, for a football player to play the race card to the point of getting someone dragged in front of a legal court over that is simply pathetic.

Every time i go round an asian household i get called a gora, some times affectionately but most of the time merely as a description...all it means is white man, you hear the young ones using it all the time in conjunction with expletives towards white people who clearly don't know what they are getting called...is it racism? i don't think it is.

If they called me bak guiy or bat gwei which i have noticed the cantonese people often band about which transfers as white devil then yeah i'd be a bit offended, if someone called me a white bastard well it wouldn't offend me...if they think i'm a bast*r* thats their call and they probably aren't far off, plus i am white so i can accept that as well because they are merely describing me.

If he had referred to the guy with a racist term then an expletive i could understand the court case...but i think this is all taking it a bit far, next you won't be able to mention anything to anyone for fear of prosecution. I thought the general idea was what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch...are we going to start charging people with assault every time a heavy tackle goes in?

We had some cantonese guys at school, I can't say hello or count to 3 in their language, but I'm fluent in swearing! If you ever need to reply drop me a line!

No one actually knows the facts of what happened between Terry and Ferdinand. Perhaps it would be sensible to wait for the trial at least before making assumptions about that situation.

There is no evidence that Ferdinand is behind the prosecution, so what is all this about him playing the race card? Also, were it him who had reported Terry, it would not be an example of such, as the allegation is of a genuine incidence of racism. No one on the receiving end of that should be expected to tolerate it.

If you refer to someone as black, that is not in itself racist, though it can be.

When you add the expletive it can be racist. Simple. Not really.

If I point over to a guy on the other side of the street, and say, "That black guy there, he is a ****!", it is not automatically racist.

If I point over to a guy on the other side of the street, and say, "That guy there, he is a black ****!", it is a racist remark.

It is complicated, but let us wait to hear what went on at the trial.

Meanwhile here is a tip for anyone in a similar situation.

If someone accuses you of making a derogatory remark, don't quote the accusation in full when responding in denial. You may end up defending that version of events in court, and suggesting you were merely quoting verbatim to explain away video evidence is not going to convince as much as there being no evidence at all.

Personally I think Terry will be vindicated. If he had been overtly racist I am sure at least one of his team mates would have had something to say about it as well as the member of the public who overheard it and reported what they considered as racism.

Pearce is the man. Good result, just don't let him pick the penalty takers.

Before the S*n released its front page this morning, I posted on another forum that I frequent that Pearce had history for racist slurs as well. Out of the frying pan and into the fire methinks.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 99759.html

It was alleged (and I assume true: he apologsed for it) that he called Paul Ince an "Arrogant b***k c**t" in a game when he was playing for Nottingham Forest. Whilst the first and third words were true the second one probably didn't help...

So do we have double standards when (the odious) Terry has recently been stripped of the captaincy and Pearce can manage? Don't know.

As for Harry for the manager; he won't last long because you don't get signing on fees for international players....

And anyway why does it have to be an english manager? They're all bobbins. Get Guus Hiddink in - that would be my choice (gets behind parapet again).

i love how the moment you meet someone from another country first thing you exchange is how to insult everyone else, i know about 5 words in greek and all of them would probably result in me losing my teeth if i ever uttered them at a greek person.
