Good tan/amber/cream tyres

Veloflex Masters or Challenge Criterium ... the latter seem to stay nicer as the walls are ruberised in some way and don't suffer so much with getting grubby.

+ 1 for the masters

Probably not appropriate unless you fancy a fatter tyre, but Grand Bois Cerf are exceptional - really supple and comfortable, fast and grippy too, I've not found anything like them.
They're expensive but come up discounted sometimes. You won't be disappointed with the ride.

What are some good retro looking tyres...some amber/tan wall tyres. What would you go for??

Cheers

What kind of size? I run wire-bead Vredestein V-Tour which are 28mm and have a wall colour somewhere between skin wall and tan wall, albeit with a reflective strip added. Ride nicely, wear well (even the rear when there's often 2 panniers' worth of groceries on the back rack) and with good puncture resistance. Admittedly, if you want a narrower, racier tyre, not really what you want but for touring and training (subject to brake/mudguard clearance), just the job. I think mine were <£20 a pair off eBay.

Veloflex are lovely for the first 1,500 miles, I found them to fall of the cliff very quickly after that, puncture after puncture. A great ride when new though.

For value for money though, I can't fault these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/specialized-t ... 25893d3ab7

The only downside is they are an odd size - they are perhaps the equivalent of 20 or 21C rather than the 25C as the label says. I like riding on super skinny tyres in summer though, hence why I've got a little stockpile of these tyres.

planet X used to sell them at just £16 each but no longer.

Wow thanks for all the replies...they will be on an occasional bike...maybe 150 miles a month

Need to look into the recommendations listed but with a budget of maybe £40 a pair, light use not racing and maybe 2000mile per year...
