I have a 89 Wicked and a 88 Ascent. I prefer the Wicked . The Ascent is very neutral and compliant but not as fun. Perhaps the difference is mostly fit as the Wicked is a smaller frame and is easier to throw around in the tight stuff.

Yes, I think this will be my final conclusion as well.
Still, there is something intangible about the fit and finish of those fillet brazed ritcheys, and what they contribute to the ride.

so relating to fit
whats the conclusion , other bikes too big or too small for you?
i'm preferring larger frames of late .but thats back problem related
i do have bikes ranging from 16" to 23" that i ride
i'm 6' tall with the long body short leg thing

my 20" dale m300 with bull moose bars in an up-right stance seems ideal
at the moment
thing is when i get a bit of speed up i keep thinking a racier lower position
is going to be better , old habits i guess.

It's always been hard to fit me for frames, (5'9" with 6'3" wingspan), so I prefer larger frames due to the space in the top tube; no back problems here (knock on wood). But on more technical (logs/roots/hairpin turns), I enjoy a shorter seat tube and ride height. I rode a Nevil Devil once upon a time, and it was perfect, but have never been able to land one. Also had an IF with a longer top tube, shorter seat tube, but sold it in a dumb moment.

Been riding this the past couple nights:

and while it excellerates like a demon, I'm not use to the comfiness of the fork, and overall I feel a bit detached. Back to my Commando for tonight's ride.

Going to make a reader's ride thread on the Commando as soon as I make a few more changes.
