Not bothered if its modern or old , I'm still undecided as to bring the Soul or the Lava Dome , just bring youreself and a bike that isn't going to fall apart half way round .

Must have parked in the old car park to miss the cafe :? Either the cafe or the pub at Tosside should be open for grub.

What's wrong with swoopy? Never seemed too knaaar but have not tried it on retro.

Looking like I should make it so need to decide if it's retro or modern. :D

Spent today utterly destroying the bike I intended to ride - if I can't get it back together tomorrow (will be a mission) then it's either modern or single speed  Any thoughts on ss, I've not been for so long I've blanked out the climbs! Managed Cannock okay at Chrimbo, no pushing required, if that's a helpful comparison.

Is swoopy different to Hully Gully, or a rename? HG was fine retro, no bother at all, just good fun :D

Swoopy is a new bit Pete and is very nice. As the name says it ebbs and flows and you can get a fair bit of speed up.

Beavis has done it SS so you should be fine.

Might be an idea if we decide which carpark to meet in before Saturday, the choices appear to be 1: the original/old Cocklett Hill carpark or 2 : the new Hub carpark.

I'd probably go for the new car park Matthews. There's the skills loop there for early risers to mess about on.

Fluffy- Settle is pleasent to wonder around if they like that type of thing?

The new carpark it is then. I assume it is signed or just real easy to find?

I've had a blinding cold for a few days now but it's loosening up, phew! at least i don't have to sleep (try) with tissue plugged up my nose any more. :)

Fluffy, bike shop that deals orange in settle, behind town hall. Could be a £700 round trip if you aint careful.

Ben if the wife n kids like walking then there are plenty of routes in the woods , I found out about the place whilst walking the dogs and used to park at the far car park (furthest away from bike routes ) and the missis would take the dogs for a walk for 2>3 hours whilst I did the bike routes , alternatively it's not to far from Settle and Ingleton if thats more in there line of things to do (White Scar Caves are about 20 mins away but it's pricey to get in AFAIK). My caving was always done more off the beaten track .
I'm guessing to get to the new car park you just drive past Cocklett hill (north) until you see the sign to turn right to the new hub car park ?.
