Gios Steel Forks How Long should the Forktube be?

Hello,

I am looking to fit some steel forks onto a Gios evolution 55cm frame. Can some one let me know how to chose the right sike fork tube and what i will need to fit the forks etc.

My current knowledge is capped at threadless headsets so this is my first venture. The frame came with a carbon fork and it seems a little light. I am billing it up and the forks are holding me up.

thanks - J

Hello,

For a general primer on threaded headsets you could try here: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/headsets.html

To choose the steerer tube length, you need to add the frame headtube length to the headset stack height, which can vary from about 30mm to over 40.

As it happens I have some Gios steel forks for sale, but I suspect the steerer (129mm) is too short for your frame.

Cheers
