Giant Cadex droupouts

You may already be able to guess what I'm goint to ask just by reading the topic title :D
I'm thinking of doing a single speed project. Some Cadex mountainbikes come with bolted on dropouts, but I don't know whether they're also bonded. My idea was to replace the existing dropouts with rear facing ones, perfect for ss.
I've done a quick search of the forum and I found out one guy on here made this: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/files/dscn0121_251.jpg
so I suppose they're not bonded, but I thought I'ask just to be sure as he may have somehow unbonded them or something. Unfortunately I don't think the owner of the bike shown will respond to pm as he has only 2 posts and they're ancient. So does anybody know whether they are bonded? has anybody done what I'm thinking of doing? Thanks!

Thanks! Kind of excited to get a Cadex, I had the road variant and I liked it a lot, except it was a bit big for me. Yours is nice Cyb!

good idea

I have a cadex CFM frame at home ready to do exactly the same with! have even drawn up the dropouts, just never got round to having the made up. Was thinking that a nice set of Pace RC31's would finish it off nicely!

That would look like they were made for eachother Olliepen! Strip the frame, paint the lugs a bright colour to really set them off (or black for stealth!) and paint the frok crown the same colour. Then clearcoat.
Wow I've got to find a cheap Cadex with appropriate dropouts!

All of the CFM dropouts are removeable.... Not all of the ALM dropouts are... Some of the ALM bikes only have removable drops on the drive side (like my 93' ALM-1)

I recently got a CFM to turn into a single speed. I am working on CAD drawings for plates. When I am done, I will probably make up a few extra sets for sale... These will be rear loading, track style... I will update when I am done.... :)

Really a juicy thing :)
please, let me know when you'll have a spare for me ;)

there are more details up about this bike now - its really asking for the cadex single speed treatment!

Edit - no good for the single speed treatment as the rear dropouts aren't removable, would still make a great geared bike though!
