FOR SALE: a Giant CADEX CFM2 1993 Frame and Forks, along with a few useful components.
Size is 17" (C to C), 18.5" (C to T). Top tube is 21.5" (C to C).
The complete bike belonged to my brother from new and has seen relatively little use over the years - all of the original components survive to this day, having not being used enough to have been worn out! The frame and forks (plus a few bits) are for sale, but I'm keeping the majority of the running gear for my own Orange Clockwork from the same era.
The original, and now rare, forks were removed soon after purchase (to make way for Manitou Three forks), so only have light markings from installation/removal and storage.
The frame is in good condition for its age, but does have some damage:
the crown adjusters on the Manitou fork have made contact with the downtube and removed the lacquer, paint and marked the top layer of the composite tube (I would say that this has only affected the very outer ply of the tube and wouldn't have any concern about any effect on the structure of the tube overall);
there is some cable rub on the headtube;
there is some lacquer and paint peel underneath the anti-chainsuck plate;
some minor chainslap paint chips;
a couple of scratches in the lacquer here and there;
the lacquer has come away from the brake post lugs on the frame;
there is paint damage to dropouts from wheel installation/removal.
Also included is the original headset, Zoom Sport stem, Zoom 170 handlebar, seatpost (not the USE one in the image), seat QR, Vetta saddle. An additional 3ttt Prolight stem is also included.
It's a great colour, with a very nice sparkle in the lacquer, and it builds up into a great bike, as you can see.
Price is £130 ono, plus the cost of UK postage (if required). Collection is welcome from the BL6 area (jct 6 of the M61, north of Manchester).
