Giant Bronco 1994 with pace rc35 1993 (parts needed)

Hey guys,
A friend of mine who bought my giant bronco off me approx 15 years ago just gave it back to me as it needs some repairs and it was not worth it to him to do the work but it has brought me right back to 1994 when I bought the bike with my first few weeks pay. To say im excited would be an understatement, I would love to restore the bike as original as possible. I need a few items to make the restoration possible.
I would love to find a set of original bronco forks
A rear ARAYA TM-18 BLACK RIM
Right and left Shimano Deore LX shifters a 3 and a 7 rapid fire shifter
A bottom bracket, I can only assume Deore LX but I'm sure it would work perfectly
An of its time Giant MTB saddle
Here's a photo of the bike after about 5 hours of cleaning de greasing tcutting and waxing :-)

Here is the only photo of the bike in its original state taken off internet.

Might give a good idea of the type of saddle I'm looking for.
Thanks for reading

Cheers mate,

Yea the forks were pritty shot alright !! Spent an hour last freeing the old elastomers up enough to get them out, new elastomers ordered yesterday !!
Once they arrive the bike will be at least rideable

Ah good stuff! For the Bottom Bracket, the UN54 is the LX one, and UN72 for XT..... They are readily available on ebay, just do a search for "Shimano UN" and you'll get lots of results. There's a link to an LX below, I'm not sure what length axle you'll need, you might have to pop the current one out to see what length it is.

I'd go for an XT if you can find the correct size as it will last you longer and it has metal cups on both sides rather that the plastic non drive side on the LX.

Cheers mate,

That info is gold, only ever bought new stuff and for that mainly road equipment. With yer help I'll have the bike back up and running in no time. Will def go with the xt bottom bracket. I didn't even know the name to put it in to eBay search. any info on the shifters to help me find the right ones, I'm trying to look at photos and guess do they look close enough

Thanks again
Mick

Not a problem matey, with regard to shifters, I'll have a look.... are you sure they're not 3x8 rather than 3x9? Can't tell from the photos, are they shifter brake lever combos?

Hey Ben,
My god when I actually looked they are actually 7 speed shifters, I dont know where I got 9 speed shifters from ??
Here are a couple of photos of them

The return spring seems to be gone on the 7 shifter ie. when you shift up a gear you have to push the shifter back to choose the next gear. the 3 shifter is just cosmetic.

Thanks again for the help,
you were spot on with the bottom bracket, easy found now

Mick
