Some of you may know my situation by now but for those who don't, well bikes have been my saviour this past year. I've been trying to build what I can with what I have and still be able to enjoy myself as I'm not letting it beat me. When this frame came up as Karma on here I fell in love with it. I can't explain why but I did. I originally turned it down as couldn't even afford the postage but thanks to the amazing community on here I ended up with it (I don't deserve you guys but I'm thankful I have this forum as it's really kept me going this past year).
I love building retromods. I know they're not to everyone's taste but my rule number one when building a bike for myself is build a bike that I will enjoy, not for anyone else, so the long term plan is to have the original frame and forks and build it with modern parts to make a fun trail bike that's a bit different to all of the modern enduro stuff but still capable of taking on rough trails. That will be a next year project when I'm hopefully in a better situation.
For now though I want to build something that represents my situation (making the most of what you have). Basically all of the parts on this build have come from bikes I've picked up for free that were going to be scrapped. It won't be a show bike but it will still make a fun bike for on the trails. Ignore the wheels as they're not usable, they're only on it to measure up fitment, I haven't managed to find wheels for it yet. I have no intention of letting this bike go and have plans to do a special event with it next year when it's properly built but for now if I can get it up and running that will be enough for me.
