Giant ATX Team DH (Rob Warner Replica)

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (Yep still building final build soon)

First off sorry for the bad pictures, I cant find the misses point and shoot, and my camera is at the studio so the iphone it is for now.

Finally spent on some of the major parts for the build (Yes I know there not on the bike but why make something up and keep adding to it over time, I prefer to tease and then go the whole hog)

2 NOS never opened Hope Enduro 4 brakes, rotors, 2 NOS Hope Big Un hubs, 2 NOS Mavic d321's and a rear wheel build.

Ill get the front wheel built maybe next week and start building her up, then for some serious hi-res photos.

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (2/3 weeks away from finish)

Hey mate,

awesome project you've got coming along here ;-)

Great choice on the hub colour, silver is perfect, works really well, especially seeing as spokes were always silver at the time too. if you were going black spokes the black hubs would have looked good, but black spokes would have been out of place.

Keep up the great work, look forward to seeing this come together ;-)

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (2/3 weeks away from finish)

Wheels all done brand new d321 rims and big un hubs laced to swiss double butted spokes.

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (2/3 weeks away from finish)

You've got more patience than I have! I'd have ended up rushing it just to get it done.

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (So Close)

So quick update, here are some iphone pics of most things, things I'm waiting on (also pictured, cheers dad for the pics) Michelin comp 16's I managed to get 2 NOS, I also just won a thompson seatpost in the odd Giant sizing 30.8 I would of preferred silver for the era of the bike but black is also fine, and I have a 205 lightning bolt Rotor on the way (Thanks to Boxxer for coming up with that one, not pictured)

As soon as I get everything its off to to the shop to get the forks serviced and rebuilt and the whole bike built also (I would do it myself but living in a studio unit/flat there is no room and I don't have any tools)

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (So Close)

Is the wait not killing you?

I'd want this built up yesterday! Looking good though and those tyres must be a bit of a find.

Hey mate sorry i didnt reply to your last post, yeah its killing me but I need it done properly i hate seeing bikes look all wrong built up and then ad to them.

Its been a long project but yeah its almost done, I really want a red pair of 2000 boxxers as I still feel its not complete I do have a pair of 1999 151's but there kind of wrong to as I have newer brakes he was running c2's while on 151's. I may save to spray the black ones red and get the stickers remade still undecided.

Tyres yeah as you can see in one of the pics I had thr right tread but they were the newer tubeless michelins, I had one original and then a few weeks back the second one came up so super happy with that

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (So Close)

Awesome to see another one!
I should get some pics up of mine.
Not sure black forks would suit the frame, red ones would look better. Hang on, I'm running black gen 1 shivers on mine lol
Love the hub choice too, I'm running the same but black!

Re: Giant ATX DH Team (So Close)

Like the above poster, its nice to see another one being built up and restored to former glory.
I've just joined up and tbh have just found the site. But I have major retro tendancies.
So I Shall post my bike up for your perusal.
