Giant ATX 990

Just acquired a Giant ATX 990 which is such beautiful condition you would wet yourselves! However when I did buy it, the former keeper told me the rear shock (Neeland NR?) 180mm eye to eye needed replacing or servicing. I have tried to source a replacement for this rear shock but all my local cycling shops are drawing blanks, or trying to flog me a new bike! Plllleeaasseeeee! any help as this bike is to die for!

Do you mean a Noeleen NR?

I don't think they make them any more, but a Giant Expert will probably be along soon.

May be worth looking at as long as the washers and fittings work with it.

Thanks for the help. Sent an email to Noleen to see if they can help. Also purchased a Fox float Vanilla rear shock as I read somewhere that someone was riding with one of these fitted. Its a retro one and so hoping it should work. Also sent the original off to see if I can get it resealed. Fingers crossed one of the three choices should work. Just polished the bike and will post pics.

risse racing in Oregon will rebuild almost anything. they have done 3 of my shocks...all great jobs.
