Getting grips on

Whats the best method of putting grips on without damaging the surface of the bar and the grips themselves?

Lol, couldn't find any hairspray, so I compromised and used Fabreze, it was the only aerosol I could find, seemed to work really well and as an added bonus my room even smells better.

WD40, TF2, hairspray...

or just buy lock on grips (dunno how retro they are, but they work very well)

good fun to buy when you have a bald head, ask the young saturday girl, if one of them has lots of hold as you hate fly away hair.

Hairspray and nothing else, like a lube when you put them on. Then like a glue when it sets. Been using it for 20+ years

Spit pn the bar - one of ededwards tips to me - revolting really but it works!

Hairspray, GT-85 or EdEdward's spit seem to work the best.
