Getting a Ti finish on aluminium?

I'm just putting together an Orange (a very slow process) and was thinking 'this really needs a titanium handlebar...'

But the handlebar is pretty light to begin with and it's original. But it also has some scratches near the clamp where I tried to get it into a too small stem. It is clearcoated at the moment, and would prefer the raw look.

Perhaps I can give it a rough finish and get that clear anodised to look like Ti?

Depending on which medium is used to blast off the clear coat a convincing Ti finish is possible.
