today we went Geocaching in the local forest as a way to get the kids out on their bikes, they moan when I suggest a ride! nah you go to fast, you go up hills, its to hard ...... and so on .... so as a way to break up the rideing and give them something else to do off, we went and they loved it :)
we still did nearly the same routes as usual and on a couple of time back tracked up and down the same trails but they soon forgot about that as they had a target to reach and a small tupperware box to find
can highly recomend it as a way to get out there and it break up a ride into small sections and entertain the kids, oh ok and us adults

you need a gps device and possibly a map? but if you have a gps equiped smart phone/iphone you can download an app for a few quid and your off, no need for £400+ gps devices as in the end its all down to looking with your eyes in the undergrowth for the hidden treasure, oh and take a pen/pencil DOH! we didnt
