i think that is bad 
no one else around the world describes their country, for example it's not "ok austrailia" or "beautiful spain" or "smelly iraq"
but there is Great Britain!

Actually it's nothing sexy, Great Britian simply comes from Greater Britian to describe the larger island, in the same way we say Greater Manchester.
