Gate riders!

Funny how differant people fit differant bikes, i'm 6'4"(and a half) with a 35" inside leg and long arms, but include 18" and 19" frames in my stable.

I'll be honest and admit that the 20" Konas are the most comfortable fit, but for fast, fun riding, you can't beat a small frame. My 18" Orange Patriot was a riot. One day i'll buy a 5 to replace her :)

Yeah I'm 6'4" as well and while my 22" Trek 4500 gives me a nice ideal pedalling position it's also supremely dull to ride, so you end up never even trying to go fast. Not to mention that when you do try you find it weighs about as much as a compact saloon.

I like the way you cleverly found the biggest gate in the world to picture your 'Mystery Ti' beside, in order to make it look normal!

 yes the gate is about 8 foot high

Another tall guy here being 6'4" with 34" inside leg, I ride Cannondale MTB with 19" frame, but since this year I tend to get neck pains after bike rides which it's not good. I am working on the bike changing some parts and having the frame resprayed this month, later during the rebuilt I am getting a 35 degree rise stem, 80mm long to see if that will help with the neck but worried if it will spoil the look of the bike. I will post pics when finished here, hey lammatron, welcome to retrobike and enjoy here.

What I would really love is to get hold of a 90s Hei Hei 22" but these appear to be rarer than rocking horse doo doo. In fact does anyone know if they were even produced for every year in that size during the 90s?

I thought the largest Hei Hei's made were 20"

You might want to have a look at Gary Fisher bikes. Gary is 6'3' and he prefers a long top tube, so the large size Fishers come with long top tubes, which helps big guys stretch out. As an example, although not old, my 2004 large size Fisher Cake has a 21 inch seat tube-measured from the Center of the BB to the seat post clamp, where the tube center would be if not for a slightly sloping top tube (20 inches center to center on the seat post tube), and a 24 inch top tube measured center to center. This, along with 180 mm cranks makes a great frame fit for large people. His older bikes were similarly dimensioned, too.

I'm pretty sure they made them in 22" aswell. I was hoping I might find a few Kona sages on here that would know which years went up to which sizes :)

The Gary Fisher Genesis geometry is the one with the super long top tube. I had a 21" seat tube with a 25" top tube. Too long for me as I have a short back.

Pace did some pretty big frames for the taller rider
