As purely an observer of all things Klien, the spelling, the shenanigans, the arguments, the ultimate madness, I remember why I bought something else at the time.
I fully see that mark, it's a circus at times isn't it?.......few bikes polarise opinion so much......
To this day though a full fat, box forked early attitude is still the fastest a to b bike I've ever slung a leg over, and I'm willing to look past the horse shite that goes with it.......in a 'mark and lard' stylee spin off of Steve wrights oldies it would still be the bike I would be most proud of having designed!.......
It might be old, but its news to me and i am already dreaming of what the new kleins would look like. IE he joins up with storck and creates a carbon dream with ax lightness equipment with some crazy bad arse paint jobs and then put a price tag of 4 to 6k on the fuselage which would weigh less than two and half pound, with the bike built up at 12lb ohoooooooo
That was actually quite sad reading that, kinda like watching the death of a sun. Even sadder that the fisher days are gone as well. Ive just bought a 29er (saracen not a trek thank the lord) so j guess theres a little bit of fisher in there somewhere.
Never got the klein hype and I remember having to deal with trek when we sold them, deliberately delaying shipments of the adroits and pinnacle and getting us to persuade the customers to buy oclv bikes instead.
One poor bloke held out for 3 months waiting for his pinnacle until finally giving in and taking a 9900 instead.
