Actually looking at your signature you might be able to help with another issue I've got; not long ago I purchased a KHS Montana Crest that I've not been able to find out much about. It's got a blue and white paint job with white stars on it, not hugely dissimilar to the Kona stars and bars paint job, kitted out with Altus A20 and C10 components. I don't suppose you'd know anything about these? I bought it as I love my KHS and wanted another to keep in Devon but I have no idea what year it's from. It has the original KHS quill stem, saddle, tires (barely used) and is a butted cromoly frame.

do you have a picture of it? i would guess at 93 or 94 given the groupset. i think the crest was their entry level bike. my dad bought the summit which i think was one up from the crest. could have been the other way round. if you click the link in my sig, are your frame decals the dame as mine? mine is a 93 but they were modernised for 94

Indeed the klein is also of interest. What size is it? Does it have v-brake mounts? And how much are you after?

thatr would make it 93 at the latest then, so given the groupset i'd say its a 93

Cheers. I only really bought it for the paintjob and to keep a bike near Haldon in case I get the train down. That and I won it on the bay for £10 delivered!

Ooh that is quite nice. What's the deal with the crack on the shock? I take it I would need to replace it?

Dave that is par for the course on these due to age and use. I have got one without cracks that I just found but would need to check if my others have cracks first before deciding to part with it, would be a little extra too. I think the reason that they went in the first place was due the the bushes wearing out and not getting replaced, therefore putting the load on the ends instead. It will still ride though even with the crack but for who knows how long
