fuckwits that dont wear helmets!!!!

Having moderate views on the subject, my point is this:-

I always wear a helmet but respect the rights of anyone who decides not to.

I doubt that there's a single cyclist in the country who hasn't thought about wearing one at some time or another.

They've made their decision and will obviously have to live with the consequences in the event of an accident. About one-third of the riders in my groups don't wear them and nothing is ever said. 8)

Aren't reflectors also advised? (not on buses or flip-flops, on bikes)..
Does everyone who wears a helmet also have reflectors on their bikes?

I believe it's a requirement that all bikes are sold with reflectors and a bell, but there is no requirement to keep them on.

(Disclaimer: IANAL, but it seems one amongst us may be, so thanks for the input)

Did this two weeks ago ....... i was out cold for about 15 mins , but what would have happened if i didnt have one on !! this is the second one that
that i have trashed in 15 years .... i never go out on the bike without one .

Wow maybe you shouldn't carry a weapon if every time some innocent person does something you don't 100% agree with makes you want to use it on them :?

Im not sure I'd have posted on a public forum that I carry an offensive weapon whilst out riding tbh :P

That said, I do believe in the right to self defence, maybe not against a random person holding a gate for you who has made a personal choice you dont like.

I wear a helmet, my buddy doesnt. He's 63 and a lifelong cyclist. His theory being, if he's going to have a crash that bad, he'd rather end up dead than a vegetable.

i would like to ride on the road but just really dont trust drivers which i think is a shame that i cant :(

I don't tell people who wear a skid lid to not wear. So if some body i don't know tells me to wear one then i will tell you to F**K off and mind your own business. Simple
If you want to wear then wear. If you don't then don't. Don't force your view on people who don't agree. simple as the meer kat says.

I mostly wear a helmet, and always when I am off road.

However I wear my 1996 Giro Ventoux 'cos it looks great.

Some guy lectured me on how it was pointless wearing it as it was too old, would have UV damaage etc etc.

I asked him if he would prefer I didn't wear one at all? I think he told me to F*** **f but I didn't hear, I was riding off on my old bike, with my old helmet.

Don't talk to me about UV damage, mooring ropes on ships suffer badly so I'm used to guaging these sort of risks, and I will take the chances.
