fuckwits that dont wear helmets!!!!

I don't always wear a helmet. If I am riding 'off road' I will, but I am just as likely to jump on my bike without one when I'm knocking around town.

Making people wear helmets will put many casual riders off cycling all together.

The freedom that comes with cycling is one of the largest advantages of our hoby. I don't think anybody should try and demand anyone wear a helmet, when pootling down to the shops.

I'd be interested to know the fatality rate off road v's road.

I can already imagine the weighted answer.

I'd also like to know the percentage of helmets v's no helmets within these figures.

got this from wiki but proves a point..
"case-control studies exist, all showing similar results. In Victoria, Australia, during 1977-1980, bicyclist casualties, then unhelmeted, sustained head injuries including severe head injuries, more than twice as frequently as the helmeted motorcyclist casualties"

I'm sorry! That doesn't make any sense.

As for insurance companies getting out of paying, what's new!

whats does strike me here is the sentiment that if you ride off road, you're gonna fall off... if you ride a motorbike you're gonna fall off...

I dont think I've ever crashed my mountain bike or my dirt bike. I don't get on either thinking I'm gonna crash

that said helmets are a sensible thing for people that want to wear them... it's really personal choice at the end of the day, people don't like to be told !

i normally have one crash a year that involves buying a new helmet....i expect to crash and do....but thats just me...i have balance issues some times..lol
