Wonder if anyone has a spare FSA crown race kicking about as I've managed to lose mine during a delayed fork swap over. The headset in an Orbit Xtreme 1 1/8th but I think an Orbit race is an Orbit race isn't it ? So any help would be gratefully received as I don't really want to have to change the whole headset. Cheers.

I've found some interesting wobble issues when swapping forks between bikes, I made the same assumption, but an Orbit MX and Orbit XLII don't seem the same when you swap them over! There's either binding or wobble - depending which way the swap is..

I use these now an almost all my forks: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/hope ... p-prod2095
As they are split it allows greater variety of compatibility - and also works with cage bearing lower races, as well as sealed lower races of FSA Orbit XLII/Orbit MX and Cane Creek that I have used so far..

As a result I do have a couple of spare FSA races though - but just couldn't guarantee they'd work with an Extreme. What's the stated angle on the HS / Lower bearing race?

Re:

That's interesting the Hope race will fit perhaps so might get one from CRC as you suggest but if you have a genuine FSA part going then that would be great. I'll check the bearing angle later but pretty sure its 45 degrees ACB as with most of them ?

Re:

Hi, here's an old review of my headset with a good exploded diagram of it. Looking at that page looks like it should have originally come with a split race - mine didn't ? Also the bearing do actually appear to be 36 degrees as you said.

Yeah, none of mine have had split races, just the 'normal' ones. If the bearings are 36 deg then in theory the spare ones I have should fit..
