does the hidden side of the mavic front hub have a recess cut into it ? the 501 had a black ring inset above the bearing , if not it was the preceeding (otherwise exactly the same) model 500

Nope, thanks for making clear which model is, Mavic 500 then

Too many my friend, just ask what you need and I'll take a pic.

(the following are skewers only)
-several Campagnolo Veloce level, old type with trad. lever, Fr only
-one Daytona 2004/5 type
-one set of Zonda 2010 level, VGC
-one set of Veloce level, old type with trad. lever
-two sets of Mavic, Ksyrium level, GC
-spare Mavic/Campagnolo mixed (fair conditions)
-one set of Ultegra 6600 and a set of 6700, Fair/GC
-odd Dura Ace 7800 I think, XT 760 I think, both should be rear only Fair/GC

Any Campa record/Shamal 9speed type front qr?

You mean the ones with the cutout? Because as far as I remember, the 9sp hubs would use the skewers like the 8sp hubs, the "cutout" lever and slender alloy skewer head were introduced with the 10sp Record hubs (OS alloy axle).

Is this the one you mean?

In such case, I've a Chorus one that is very similar, it does not have the "D-handle" on the nut

Yes I mean the cut out version. I think it came with the record 9 titanium or the 12 spoke Shamal...

do you have 9 spd freehub body that would fit 1996 Athena-Chorus rear hubs? :)

Hello.
I may have something like that in a box with odd parts.... IIRC were the silver/dark brown ones (alloy and steel)? Not many of those still around, and a very useful thing to keep old Campag hubs/wheels with newer 10sp groupsets and matching cassettes ;)

Hello

Yes, I have one, it looks like is for a Veloce/Mirage hub on cartridge bearings.
May be able to take a pic tomorrow!
