DD your shock is a coil right? They both have pro's and cons really. Often shock choice i.e air or coil, is down to personal preference. I think its right that a coild shock is more progressive? (or the other way round ). But the other feels more consistent through its travel

hmmm mine is a 195mm i'm 99% sure but will double check

air is way lighter, about 1.5lbs over the fox coil but coil has a bit better sensitivity to small hits and tends to be more linear. air is more progressive and ramps up towards the end of its compression and is much more adjustable.

shocks are one thing that i have never really looked into, dont know if im right but would an air be better as im a bit on the heavy side??

air shocks are fine for heavy riders, i'm 15ish stone myself, much easier to set up the preload cos you just set the psi in the shock to your weight. its set at 200 psi for me and the max is 250.

happy to swap p/x for some 100mm travel forks too
