FS: NOS U.S. GT RTS 18" frame - *now £300*

Dirt Disciple
Unique (probably?) opportunity to buy a NOS GT RTS frame - never built up and imported from the US by a friend of mine who is tragically no longer with us and didn't have the opportunity to build it into what I suspect was going to be his dream bike. The proceeds will be going to his widow and daughter.

It is a US made 18" frame and the frame number puts it at January 1994. I'm not certain of the actual model though - possibly some sort of special edition with the World Champion decals, and the posher piggyback Noleen NR3 shock which I'm told is worth £150 alone in this condition. I haven't seen these W.C. decals on any other pictures I've found, but they were clearly applied from new looking at them.

This is a new frame that comes with the owners manual still sealed up! The photos don't really do it justice...

I realise this is top money for a GT RTS, but I believe this will be the best one to be found anywhere, and would make the basis of an amazing build with the right parts (advertising a NOS M900 XTR groupset tomorrow, which would go nicely).

£400 posted Special Delivery, or delivered by me to within a reasonable distance from Kent.

Please PM me. I would rather this go to a Retro Biker in this country, which is why it's not on ebay, and would much prefer not to post abroad. I will not necessarily go with the first offer/dibs, but once I accept an offer I WILL stick to it!

Ian

The RTS was a world championship winning frame under more than one rider ( furtado and voullioz to name 2 ) and this was a common sticker GT applied from the factory, I think letmetalktomark has the same sticker on his rts

And here again on Mattbrowns

This is either a team or an RTS 1 so not that uncommon and would be worth more of it was earlier as the alloy rear puts it into the 94/95 range

Thanks for the info boxxer and Ishaw. Most likely a '94 RTS Team then. Had some interest from abroad and need to find out postage costs, but I would rather it stayed here if possible.

Its not a team, wrong rear triangle. 93 RTS 1 has a black tange rear triangle, A Team has a alloy triangle which is jionted for slight movement. Its a 1 or Team main frame, rear triangle is a bit of a Mystery to me as my knowledge of RTS’s are 93/94.

Just had a harder look, It’s a 93/94 Team the rear triangle is split and it has the rocker for the cants. The top tube decal is correct but it is missing the small team logo, which stand next to it. IM Shaw the GT main logo was white also, didn’t think it looked right back in 94 and it still doesn’t. Sorry for my mistake, it looks a true Team to me.

Sorry, seams IM taking your sale thread over. The World Champion decals were on the RTS 1 and team, thanks to Julie Furtado who won the DH world cup on it in 92.
My 93 RTS 1 photo attached with the same decal, and yes I know my rear triangle is chromed, back in the day my mate Mr Goodyear went out and purchased a Team. The back end looked great so I SINED, stripped my triangle down and had it chromed. I liked it then a still do today.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks N-R, that's been useful. January '94 (according to frame number) Team then.

Still for sale, although had an enquiry about postage costs to Oz.

This needs to go so I've dropped the price to £300 posted in the UK. It will go on eBay next weekend if it doesn't sell at this price, but surely for a unbuilt top-end RTS frame this is reasonable??
