Afternoon All,
I have for sale a 2009 Magura Thor.
Adjustable 100-140mm.
Compression/platform damping.
20mm Maxle.
Steerer is 190mm
I bought the forks to experiment with a longer travel fork on my Soul. After settling (for now) on a 120mm fork its sadly time to move these on.
The forks are in good condition with all dial functions working as they should i.e. the fork travel changes from 140 to 100mm, the rebound works as does the lock out. The lowers and crown have marks on them from general use but nothing that effects their use. That said please do read on.
There are a couple of points worth mentioning.
The stanchions are not scratched but have minor indentations from the bushes. I have spoken to Magura Germany about this and it seemed a common complaint of the earlier Thor forks. As no oil escapes from the seals I was advised to service the lowers but instead of the 2.5mm 8O of oil as std to put in 10mm.
I have done this and the fork remains plush and supple. During my time owning the fork the stanchions indentations have not worsened.
You can just see feint lines (vertical) on the stanchions below:
The fork also came to me without a remote for the travel reduction. This wasn't a problem as the forks can be adjusted with the dial at the top of the RH leg. I mad a small tab to help grip the adjuster when wet. Pleased with my work as it works well!
There's no hose guide - there's a small bolt in there to zip-tie the hose to.
There's some scoring on the steerer tube
The forks are now decal-less
The pics have been taken over time so some show decals others don't. To confirm fork will be decal-less!
So if you got that far well done
The fork is what it is.
If it doesn't sell then I will keep hold of it as even with the points above its a good fork!
Happy for peeps to come and see the fork. I live in Suffolk.
Any questions just shout.
Regards,
MArk
