SOLD

Before you read any further, please be aware that I bought these from a Police Auction Website ( www.bumblebeeauctions.co.uk ). I have the Police receipt, and they would have been destroyed if they hadn't been sold

If you're happy with that, then please read on. If you feel that you need to question the morality of doing such a thing, then please feel free to keep your opinion to yourself, as I have done nothing wrong, and am selling the forks at a very fair and reasonable price. I'm sorry to rant a little bit, but I've received a bit of abuse on another forum where these bits are listed and I wanted to make everything clear.

Fox 36 Van RC2 Forks

200mm x 1.1/8" steerer.

2007 lowers with FULL 2011 Internals (FIT Damper Upgrade included). Also has 2011 decals.

160mm Travel. Coil Sprung. High and Low Speed Compression Damping, FIT Rebound Damping and Preload adjust.

Complete with silver FSA Pig Headset, star nut and Chris King Top Cap

Forks are in fantastic condition as the pictures should show, with minimal cable rub to crown and hardly a mark on the lowers. Stanchions and decals are perfect.

Forks are buttery smooth and work perfectly.

Note - plastic hose guide not included as it's been lost!

These are basically a 2011 fork in 2007 trousers!. The 2011 36 Van 160R fork sells for £699. These have exactly the same internals and decals, just 2007 lowers without the QR20 system (regular bolts instead).

Was £420, now just £320 including postage to the UK .

Why such a dramatic price drop, you may ask? Well, I get the feeling that the fact I bought these forks from a police auction website, and was listing them for sale for close to (but still not as much as) the secondhand asking price of a decent set of Fox 36s may have either put people off, or just plain annoyed them for some reason as I dared to try to make a couple of quid

£320 for this set of forks is a stupidly good price. Please feel free to check out http://www.mojo.co.uk/getfit.html, where you will see that the FIT damper upgrade alone costs between £250 and £309.

I'm not going to drop the price any further I'm afraid. I'll keep them if they don't sell and I'll use them myself.

Very nice forks.

Just out of interest how much did they go for on the police auction site?

...

Why should he?

If these are advertised at a fair price, and someone wants to part with that dosh, then what the seller purchased them for has little to do with the price of chips surely?

I paid less for the forks than I'm selling them for. However, that's because I got lucky at the police auction. My selling price is still cheaper than any other 36 in this condition, especially as they have 2011 internals which makes them essentially the same fork as the 2011 Van 36 FIT R which sells for around £700.

You're completely right - unfortunately, some people (though none who have posted on this thread :)) seem to have a problem with people such as myself who manage to get plain lucky and buy something at auction for a good price, and then have the nerve to *gasp* try to sell said item and make a few quid in the process..!

They completely overlook the fact, of course, that said item is still ridiculously good value for money. That doesn't seem to matter!
