FS: 1992 GT Avalanche Frame, Forks, Stem + some NOS XT bits

Laundrymike

Old School Hero
I'm selling a 1992 GT Avalanche frame, complete with forks, stem, headset, seatclamp, seatpost, u-brake - these are original parts. I'm also including a NOS XT front mech and a NOS XT front canti brake

Just recently bought this and It's just a touch to big for me, was sold to me as a 16", but is actually 18" centre to top. Actual top tube measures 21.5" centre to centre. Bought the XT bits amongst others to start building and have now stopped!

Condition of the frame is good, few marks and scuffs, slight rust spots - nothing major with no damage. Headset is useable, if a little rough - likewise the bottom bracket

These frames ride fantastic, I have another which I bought brand new back in the day - which I still have back at my folks, but is a 14.5" and to small for me now

Would like to sell as a job lot, no splits at this stage - I think It's a good deal @ £150 the lot

It's the same as: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/mai ... emId=28285

Cheers, Mike

those were awesome frames. you should put some pics up though so people know what they're looking at

unfortunately i resprayed mine really badly before giving it away to a fellow retrobiker

That's the one, exactly the same! Will get some pics up later tonight...

The one I still have that I bought new, stupidly I decided I didn't like the colour and had it repainted....really wish I hadn't, ah well

the paint of mine was flat and was turning yellow in places where it had reacted with the metal. so it was repainted black, but now i wish i had left it alone........ as far as im aware it is still going though. i gave it away and it was built up with some modern bits

I think these were always sold as centre to centre measurements, hence why at 6ft 2 I reckon 18" bikes fit properly, they don't, 19/20" bikes and " 18" " GT's so it probably is a 16" but bigger. confusing isn't it. get a pic up someone inc me will probably tell from the picture.

I really like these aswell...

Pics!

Finally got round to sorting some pics and to sweeten the deal, a XT rear mech to match the NOS front
