Front Disc Brake Set-up - Found

C'mon folks, one of you serious racey types must have stripped off a standard front disc brake set-up and replaced it with something carbon-gucci!

All I am after is a nice performing front set, complete with rotor so that I can pop it on my Kona with a new wheel that appeared in my garage and be a step closer to sneaking it off road again. Merlin cycles have an XTR/XT front set that I can get for £70, but that is a bit too much money and probably a bit much brake (as tempting as it is).

Go on, it is my birthday on Saturday!

May not be to your liking, but i have a set of Giant MPH 2's. Work fairly well, will go straight on, but would suggest a bleed at some point. If memory serves me correctly they have nearly new pads in them.

If i get the time tonight (out for midweek ride) i'll dig them out and confirm all details tomorrow.

Hi I have an Avid BB7 front disc, 203mm hexagonal rotor, Not seen much use, If your looking for an easy maintain disc brake this is right up there. Its cable operated so you can have matching v brake levers and none of that bleeding bleeding

I had this on my old cindercone when running pace RC31's and was great.

Just missed GM's BB7s, so has anyone got anything else, pref Shimano Hyd?

If no, I am thinking of getting the new Deore cable disc as I have a centre-lock wheel and they are cheap. Selling the V-brakes and the Pace V-mounts should pay for the disc set-up. Any thoughts?

Left lever? Sounds wierd, were you running a front off the left or is it a back brake? Very interested though, especially with a centre lock disc!
