No worries. The M550 is a close relative of what you already have but any front derailleur that is designed to cope with larger chain rings (46t, 48t) should work: the larger chain rings require a longer BB spindle so they don't hit the chain stays and a front mech designed to cope with larger chain rings must, necessarily, then cope with the larger distance away from the seat tube.

have just bought a smaller 115mm BB going to try it, thanks for all your help
