my dogs have just ganged up on a poor little toad or frog. dont know the difference. by the time i realised what was going on she had it in her mouth and i heard a crunch.

i intervened and she dropped it. still alive bit not moving. i have put it in some water away from the dogs. it has a puncture wound on its side (not bleeding) but i think its legs are broken.

no idea what to do now?

Have a look tosee what kind of frog/toad it is. I am sure they are protected?

Look up frog rescue in the book! you would be amazed how many small animal welfare organisations there are around the country.

good luck.

dont worry , a bird will come along and finish it off .

Then a cat will jump out and eat the bird, and a dog will pounce and eat the cat I'm stuck after that!

So I'm no song writer. I do look like a rock god though.

Anyway how did the frog/toad get on?

So then Dave after the text message, did you do it??????

If it's a toad, your doggie will be frothing at the mouth, like she's eaten some soap in a cartoon, for about half an hour.
My Jack Russell took 6 months to work out that toads were not good food.
The chickens, though, will happily pull one limb from limb given half a chance.
Ever heard a toad scream? They do, and it sounds horribly human.

With birds that won't make it I put them in a plastic bag and whack sharply against a wall. No mess. Sounds a bit cruel, but actually quick.
Not sure it'll work on a frog/toad though.
