Friday night is nightride night!

Re:

21! Feck that's a big group ride. Surprised you cover any miles at all. What's the combined faff of that many people? Good that there's that much support but can't help feel that the inevitable stop starting would drive me mad.

At least 40% bail out before the run starts, possibly as my runs start on Sundays and some are too hungover from Saturday night festivities. 11-14 is a normal runs actual numbers. Usually cover about 20 miles over 4 or so hours. Apart from me most riders are on modern bikes that deal with terrain easily. Stop start riding has never bothered me and my runs are more about off road touring where what you see is often more important than the excitement of the terrain you ride. Often find wee areas folk can muck around in for 5-10 minutes to let off steam. There is an abandoned quarry on this run plus oodles of twisty singletrack thats just as much fun ridden slowly as fast. Walky Talkies though this time as previous couple of runs have lost some back markers. Always find them eventually, no ones left behind. Sometimes wish I was single though as there is a lot of female talent on these runs 8)

You two dinnae need any help from me when it comes to being camp.

Velo, aye still on for Sunday. Very much looking forward to some lovely new Midlothian singletrack. Will be strange having girls on a ride, although you'd think I'd be used to it now that Keith's shoulder is fixed.

Re:

Well, you guys missed a good ride in Keith's Plantation. Lots of cracking, rooty and fast flowing trails through the trees. Some nice downhill bits tae. Won't mention the really muddy bits as they were far outweighed by the rest which was super dry, nor will I mention the sawn-off fallen tree (aboot a foot and a half thick FFS) that jumped oot and dumped me on ma erse. Can you believe that I just didnae see it? Me neither but I didnae know it was there till it hit me. At least gave Keith a laugh.
And my legs are still stinging like feck wi nettle stings from the track getting there.

Re:

Aye was a good blast that. 12miles of pedalling all the time. The run in has the worst nettles, legs are nippin lol.
