Passive rear steer on ZX, AX, 205, 106, 306, Xsara and a few others I think.

Gives them a little bit of lift off oversteer on the edge of their limits.

Bought a new one in 1999 very good fun and involving to drive keep to the standard tyres (michelin pilot sports iirc) and suspension and you'll have lift off over steer fun.
PS. the grey rocker cover engine had a bit more hp

thats cool then coz the ebay bargain engine has a grey rocker cover!

all this talk of lift off oversteer is making me hot under the collar. might do a track day in it while the golf is off the road. only trouble is she'll want to come too

here she is! i'm sure you coul dhave imagined what it looks like anyway.

does anyone know if i will have any issues fitting an engine from a 2002 car?

Didnt the ZX Volcane have passive rear steering to? It was very scary going round roundabouts....

:D I have had 1 Volcane and 3 zx 16v's Easy_Riders main car is a zx 16v at the moment. I love the handling

Yes they have passive rear wheel steer (all zx's do as far as I'm aware :?: ), well the arms move on rubber bushes. Incidentaly ZX's have zero toe in on the rear. a popular upgrade for 'fixed rear wheel' 306 track racers are ZX rear arms for some nice sharp turn in.

considering they start at zero toe in, the passive rear steer ( a couple of degree's) is quite safe on the corners.

Somebody say French hot hatch. Yes lift off oversteer but only if you loose your bottle and lift off, keep your foot in!

Brother's 21 Turbo "French Cosworth" Goes like the clappers!

always fancied a 21 turbo. bet they are fetching some cash nowardays.

removed the seized motor from the saxo last night. having only ever removed beetle and camper engines before it was an eye opener. nothing is easy to reach. engine is stupidly heavy. the only thing they have in common is the fact there are 4 bolts holding them in.

it was also the first time i'd had the chance to look round the car. i can see hey they are rated as being nippy, the panels are paper thin! i think it'll creak and rattle a bit more than the golf. it is also a bit tatty on the edges but that's no biggie.

started at 6, finished about 11. took a lot longer than i expected but i'm a third of the way there now...

off back tonight to install new clutch and cambelt, swap inlet and exhaust manifolds over, bolt box and starter back on and get it lifted back in.

then hopefully just one more evening to put all the hoses and millions of connectors back on. not looking forward to that bit. there's millions of em
