Free XT left hand shifter and broken right hand one

Bought these of here a while back but the right hand shifter is knackered :roll: it shifts ok to a point but under stress the ratchet slips :?

So free to a good home pair of cosmetically nice 8 speed XT shifters but the right hand one is knackered :? left hand one is fine though

p.s as I can nick the stamps from work you don't even have to pay postage

The Exage ones on my Raleigh were slipping like you describe, i stripped them down and pinged the spring about i think, not 100% perfect but not given much trouble since (3yrs ago)

If there are any spares going from that right hand one i will take them. I also have one that doesn't shift properly and want to repair it

I had the same issue, and decided to strip them down and try a repair. I was rather hung over when I attempted it, removed a tiny screw, which I promptly lost then gave up and put them back together as best I could. Been working like a dream ever since

Not very helpful, but I think it was mainly getting lubrication in there that sorted it out. A good old squirt of GT85 or whatever you like to use may do the trick.
