frame number?

hi
i have a frame and fork set which im a bit miffed with.only id it has is the frame number and the BB cable guide.the guide has raleigh marked on it but the frame number doesnt tally up with that.
this is the number YF98C00795.

the frame is massive.has got to be for a 6+ footer.
nicely tigged,non lugged frame.

could be a POS?

any ideas to the number please

Pics will help a lot.

I'm not sure on later Raleighs, but the number is wrong for a frame up until the late 80's so it may be something else.
