hi all, any body managed to remove shallow dents in aluminium frames?

Paul Brodie did a good youtube video on it. I used that technique to take a few out, or at least make it less noticeable. It will make scratches so be prepared, depending on your finish.

That's on steel frames. Aluminum tubes should be replaced (http://www.frankthewelder.com) and heat treated after, or just filled with some sort of bondo.
It depends a lot on where the dent is and how deep your 'shallow dent' is.
Middle of a top/seat/down tube, without any cracking or sharp edges, then roll it out, fill any dimpling that's left and finish.
If it's near to a major joint, or anywhere within, say 10 cm of the head tube or BB, then the tube will need more major work, or full replacement and (depending on the alloy) solution/quench/age or just age cyles.
