frame - any one recognise it?

Pretty sure Fleet is the name of the producer, maybe wrong though....seem to Remember Paul Plunkett riding a hardtail with Fleet decals back in the day :D

not many people built frames with Columbus Max although I always liked the look of it.

British custom for sure - possible Dave Yates?????

Actually, I'd guess from the design, look of the fillets and especially the paint job that it's a relatively early American built Land Shark. Land Shark's mtb model was (is?) called the DirtShark.

i wrenched at a high-end US shop for a living in the late-80's/early-90's, and saw a lot of land shark road bikes around...but never a mtb. roadies were mostly prestige tubing, sometimes lugged, sometimes fillet brazed. very nice frames!

the paint on this one looks wild enough to be land shark, but the current website shows a few mtbs and none have wishbone stays. lots of fillet brazing though.

this is a curiosity for sure.
