there was a thread last year i think with loads of novel uses for old, knackered or obselete parts & lamps were just 1 use for forks.

sure I've seen that before, and as I suggest, the forks should have v-brakes fitted with the main cable disguised as the brake cable, and the v calliper actiing as the switch.

I used to have two non-drive cooks crank arms as door handles. Worked very well and made use of the fact that cooks drive sides always cracked!
