Stuck some Z2 BAM's on it for the time being but I got those for something else..

What'd be a nice fork to put on a 3-year old GT??

nice on a budget or just nice?
ive got marzocchi mx comp from 06, Titanium nitride (gold) stachions, black crown, black legs and red detil and topcaps
although ive lost my topcaps and cant find any replacements
all round good forks :D

Always on a bit of a budget fella. . .

But if I know my options I can keep me peepers open ;)

Is it just a travel issue?

travel will need to be kept as near as stock travel as possible, the bike will handle improperly if changed too much
should be around 100mm
my mate has an avalanche and its got rock shox dart 2s so maybe darts could be an option

Stick with the current amount of travel, or it will mess up the handling & could snap the frame if you go OTT on travel (10% extra is usually OK)

Look at The Rockshox Tora & Recon forks.

The ones with Motion Control damping are very good, much better than the Turnkey damped ones. (Dart & some Tora's)

U-Turn forks are useful as you can wind the travel down for climbing & then up the travel again for descending

Coil forks are a little plusher straight out the box, but air forks are more adjustable for your weight. Coil forks come with a std weight spring for riders around 11-12stone, you can get lighter or heavier springs for ~£40.

Merlincycles.co.uk, Wiggle & Chainreactioncycles are worth looking at for forks, usually some good deals to be had.

So 100mm should be cool??

I don't know what it had as standard (was fitted with RST Omni rubbish)

Looks like it only had 75mm according to bikepedia...

So maybe Judys or Indys or even the Bombers??

D'ya reckon the Z2 BAM's (80mm) that are on there are a good option?

They're the right colour, in great condition and I can always source another fork for the Voodoo at a later date.. . . so if they're good for GT, I'll just leave them on ;)
