Retro Newbie
FS Pace RC100
It has been a pleasure to own this bike. Had this for a couple of years building it up from frame and fork. Before that it had been hanging up in a mate’s garage for years. Been riding this infrequently for a year, only been out max of 10 rides in that time, and mostly gravel paths. Full disclosure I’m a roadie - taking it on the trails was a laugh but revealed I need something more modern to make up for my embarrassingly inadequate bike handling!
Frame number RC0365 (I *think* it's a 19 inch) - paint is probably not the cleanest out there but everything bar the cable guides is as it should be. Some scratches on the BB where someone's dropped the chain but no cracks or dings that I can see.
RC35 Kevlar fork - Had this serviced by Tim Price at Fork English.
FSA Headset
Renthal RC Sub 130 bar
Magura HS33 brakes
Campag Racing T braze on front mech
Shimano XTR rear mech
Sunline grips
Mavic 231 rims
Shimano Deore LX hubs
Bullseye cranks
Flite transalp saddle
Pace chainrings
Planet X stem
Shimano XT 7s shifters
Conti tyres
Good bits
The frame and fork are great, the bike climbs brilliantly, probably descends brilliantly too but sadly not with me on it!!
The rear mech has been on the bike as long as I’ve known and it works like a dream.
Shifters are fantastic as you’d expect.
Bad bits
I had real trouble finding the right front mech, I don’t think this Campag one is right but it has got me round on two rings.
The rear brakes have lost some power on the last ride so they could do with a service.
The BB is a bit stiff having been in the garage not being ridden for a few months, needs a service.
Looking for £600 #SOLD# plus shipping. I'll do some more photos this weekend if anyone's interested.
I'm in Shropshire and would prefer collection but would be willing to meet somewhere sensible.
