i've put a lot of thought to this in recent years as my interest has steadily dwindled.
coming from a fan that has travelled home and away, and to europe to support a team.. my love for the game has been dying along with the mass injection of money and shady morals. the fact that you see children as young as 9/10 years old, and women screaming blue murder and making obscene gestures at anyone who dares even look in their direction wearing different colours. my only conclusion is unfortunately too horribly judgemental and im too embarrassed to say it out loud.
so, im not willing to tell you that it came to me over breakfast in the work canteen, overhearing factory workers, yet again, talking utter dribble about the previous nights match whilst devouring their extra thick stacked bacon butties. working class (*cringe*) men need something to talk about.

this doesn't explain the prawn sandwich brigade, perhaps, but they aren't true fans, right? perhaps (like me) they were just duped into thinking it was actually important.
perhaps they will all too have an epiphany and get on a bike instead (or watch rugby).
that and the fact religion is dying. it's all a bit tribal, init.
but I won't say
