Pretty sure that's not the case. Premier League is it's own entity and the members decide who is invited to the party.cornholio's RC200":32g5urlr said:As for Rangers and Celtic joining the English leagues, they would have to join at the bottom just like Accrington, Aldershot, AFC Wimbledon and FC United have.
That said those same members aren't likely to vote for it seeing as they would be taking up places, unless some sort of restructure happens. At the end of the day money decides, and Rangers (and grudgingly Celtic) have fanbases 80% of the PL can only dream about.
As for sectarianism, have you lot seen the state of Scottish football? It's gash, and even when the big two come together the game is usually gash football wise. Bigotry is what makes it one of the biggest games in the world. The vast majority is 90 minute bigotry, and the rest of the time we all get on famously. If you go to Ibrox you'd be hard pushed to even see a Celtic fan before or after the game- the days of riots and missiles are gone. A few insults over the Police lines is about as fearsome as it gets. It's not half the issue it's made out to be by the vested interests of the media.
