Flying Scot 1949 - going supersonic...!

It's an obvious shill bid from the seller. Flying Scots in this condition from this era rarely fetch more than £2-300 on eBay. Even with the parts, the only thing that looks in any usable condition is the stem and maybe the saddle. Expect to see it back on eBay by Friday, at a vastly reduced price!! 7

Re:

Considering the other continental sold for £480 slightly more realistic. Shill bid most probably. To jump from 980-1700 very suspicious.

Re:

The fella that bought is genuine and will restore it. At least it's gone to a good home and not striped for parts.

If I get half of that for my 56 Scot id be delirious! Cant belive it. Cool parts on it though.

Im in the same boat  My '56 F&F are effectively just a bare rusty frame with some brazing repairs

Those repairs could elevate it

But tbh i think its the fact its an early one with rare kit did it.

I still think theres something shady going on here with one of those 2 bidders. :?

Re:

I thought the same but it turns out a Flying Scot enthusiast wanted it. Weather he was bid up I don't know. He did say he has to sneek it past his wife and could be tricky? :)

If anyone paid £2000 for that they want their brains destroyed! I'll sell you a '49 Scot frame for 200 notes! I'm still not believing it...
