I've just looked again at the saddle/ seat pin combination, (Bontrager Evoke RXL saddle fitted to a Bontrager xXx seat post). The rails are indeed 7x10 and there is a disclaimer sticker under the saddle in lawyer speak outlining the fate awaiting any one who uses a saddle with "normal" rails with the seat post. This is reinforced by another engraved message on the saddle clamp itself.
The Bontrager pairing is very light (300g) but the saddle is the proverbal pain in the .... so I was hoping to replace it with the Fizik which I know from experience will fit me well but sadly it has round rails.
