Fitting v-brakes when there's no holes for the springs

Can anyone tell me whether I can get some sort of plate or brake booster that might allow me to mount v-brakes on my fat chance? There's no holes for the springs to sit in and no way of mounting the little washer with the holes in that many bikes have. I'm thinking some sort of arch with holes for the springs might do the job. Does anyone know?

Thanks

the expensive option would be to buy some pauls motolites or similar, these don't need a spring hole on the frame / fork.

Avid Arch Supreme's work without the prong/ hole. Tension is held in the arch.

But as these are harder to get hold of and still expensive..

I'd imagine ARch Rivals work on a similar principle.

:D

Got a picture of the offending area?

I always thoght that Fat's used a washer with a hole in. But i may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time

arch rivals use a spring hole.

dia compe cantis were self-tensioning, maybe their early v-brakes (VC737, VC747) were as well?

Avid 1d's are an option, they don't use a spring hole, but maybe a bit basic and uncool for your fat!

Thanks for all the advice.

Looks like it might be time for a pair of arch supremes. I had been using HS33s because of the lack of holes - but now they've gone leaky it's time for something that relies on cables.

Strange as it is, there's no room for the little washers with holes as the bosses have got some odd ridges on that I would have to file down to get washers on. Also, not terribly keen/confident on drilling holes in the beast.

Anyone got an arch supreme for sale?

holes

Don't need spring holes, the ridges lock onto back of the V mountings. acor and Tektro canti's don't have a spring protruding and lock using friction
