Hi there,

anyone got any advice or experience of fitting a new tensioing bolt to a brooks b17.

I've only had a quick go and it didn't look like it was going to be easy.

Must be a knack that someone knows?

thanks for yor help

Do you not have to de-rivet the front of the saddle? I don't think mine would come out without taking the nose off the saddle.

Ive recently tried this on a Brooks B5N - an absolute nightmare, essentially you have to try and stretch the saddle to get the bolt on, its very rigid and tough metal here to withstand the tension, I though of de-rivetting and eventually though sod it and managed to get a good B5N on ebay.

mmmm. think I'll give the guys at Bicycle workshop a call, which is where I bought the bolt.

He advised me to get the shorter of two bolts as it would be easier to fit - i guess indicating that it should be acheivable without resorting to removing rivets etc?

hopefully they can help.
