More good luck, picked this up a few weeks ago n was f/f mostly. Had a pile of parts to build but saw that Suntour XCD parts were all black. I did find a group for a steal and the wheels I had are M logo hubs with RM20 rims but sadly silver. Going for the Urban Assault Bike look with this one. I'll update when parts arrive. Levers/shifters are place holders.

Nice bike. Always liked these CR7's with Aluminium front end and bolt-on steel rear stays. Suntour XCD is a nice choice too, especially with the chainstay U-brake and 4 finger levers (well they look x4 finger from the photo). Always loved the shape of this era Suntour Shifters too.

Also intrigued to see what "Urban Assault" looks like...

A small group of parts just arrived and installed, waiting on crankset. So there will be all Suntour XCD less the wheelset on the bike but am keeping eyes peeled for those. My take on Urban Assault Bike is something that can get you through a mess if needed, have all of the lighting, tools and some spares onboard in case something breaks, but mostly its a grocery getter/beer fetcher. Planning on some sort of front rack at some point, anyone using one that I should look for? This is the only bike of 25 or so that I own with a rack on it, and it's going to have 2 LOL.

nice. I picked one up a little while back also. Planning on grabbing another Fisher Aquila to add to my stable, a CR7 and Montare.

Nice looking CR-7 DesertRyder. I have a later frame/fork that needs paint and it does have the Evolution fork unlike this one which is older and uses a 1" steer tube. Cranks installed, chain on now (no pics yet) and everything dialed in. Waiting on a front rack that I hope will work on this build, it attaches to the brake bosses and the hole in the fork crown. It is a smaller unit because I did not want to over weight the front end to keep steering manageable.
